How to Share Information?

There are different ways to share information with Collect'd.

1. Private Network : The most secure way to share personal information is to use the Private Network sharing.  
2. Secure Links : A secure alternative for non-Collect'd users or temporary sharing.
3. IOS Share : Share non-sensitive information with your day-to-day apps, like email, social networks and others.

How to share information with your Private Network

You must have a Collect'd Premium plan to be able to invite people to your network and use the Private Network.

Send an Invitation:

• Tap on the + menu and select “Send an Invitation”
• Enter the contact information of the person you wish to invite
• Verify the information and send the invitation

Accept the Invitation:

• The person receiving the invitation will receive an email or SMS with an invitation link
• The person must click on the link from their device (we support only iPhone for now)
• Follow instructions:
  • If Collect’d is not installed on the device, the user will be asked to install it. The user will then need to register with an email and password, and then, the invitation code will be automatically applied. 
  • If Collect’d is installed, it will open the app. Once logged in, the invitation will be automatically applied.
• The person receiving an invitation gets the Collect'd Basic plan automatically, which gives the ability to use the app for themselves and share back with you.  
• Once done, you will be connected on each other’s Private Network, and ready to share.

Share:

• To share information, go in the information page or the collection page of what you want to share. See image below, which shows all methods available for Sharing.  Sharing is simple - just choose the method you prefer based on your situation.
  
  

How to share information with Secure Links

See image above. Tap on the "Share via Secure Link" icon. After adding the contact information of the person you want to share with, simply tap "Send Link" to send the secure link to your information.

When the person tries to access the information with the link, Collect'd validate the contact information first.  This way, if the link is shared by mistake (or re-shared), your information can only be viewed by the person you shared with.  You can deactivate the link at any time.

How to share information with IOS Sharing

See image above - you can access "IOS Share" via the ... menu.

When selecting "IOS Share", you can share the files attached to the information you have.  For instance, if you used SmartScan to add your driver's license, only the picture of the driver's license can be shared - all the extracted fields are not shared.  If you want to share everything, you must use Private Network sharing or Secure Link sharing.

When sharing with IOS Share, you rely on the app you choose to share with.  Collect'd cannot secure your information once it is shared this way.  For instance, if you share your driver's license via gmail, you depend on gmail.  Collect'd recommend not sharing sensitive information this way and to always use the Private Network sharing or the Secure Links for sharing sensitive information.
