How to add a Custom Information?

What is a Custom Information (or a Custom Category)

You can add anything in your Collect'd library.  While the standard Library covers for a lot of types of information, you will certainly find new ones.  In every release, we continue to improve the library, but there is always more. 

When you are adding something that is currently not defined in the Library, we call this a "Custom Information" or "Custom Category". In the example below, you may want to add your "AMC Stubs" card as a "Movie Card".  In Collect'd Library, it should go under "Membership Cards", but for some reason, you way want to separate it from other membership cards. This is just an example to illustrate the Custom Information flow.

To add a Custom Information:

• First, select SmartScan, Upload File or Manual Entry, and proceed as usual.
  
  
  
  
• When you get the screen "What are you adding?", try to type a few different keywords that would describe what you are adding.  For instance, for a Driver's License, you could type "driver", "license" or "permit".  You may find the type of information you are adding this way, without creating a Custom Information.
• If you cannot find it, type the name as you would describe it yourself.  When you do this, you are creating a Custom Category first. This is a Category you will add anywhere you want in your Library - like a folder.  This allows you to add more information like this later.  For instance, when you add your AMC Stubs card, you could call it "AMC Stub Card", but if you then want to add another card like your "Regency Card", your would need to create another category.  Instead, if you name the category "Movie Card", you can later add the second card using the same Custom Category.
  
• Tap the + button to add as a new type of information in your own Library.
  
  
  
• When you tap "Next", you select where you want to store this new Category (in this case, "Movie Card").  In the example below, it will be stored in Personal > Membership & Loyalty.  This will create the following tree structure:
  Personal > Membership & Loyalty > Movie Card > AMC stubs card
  
  
  
  
• Since a Custom Information is not defined in Collect'd Library, the AI engine do not know what to extract.  It may still try to extract standard information like names or expiration dates, but in most cases, you will need to enter the information.  For this reason, the flow goes directly to the next step, to confirm the owner of the information, and to add the details of the information.
  
  
  
  
• Once all information is provided, tap "Save", and your information will be added to your Library
